CDW Systems at forefront of domestic shift

Budleigh Salterton project

The growth of aluminium windows and doors in the domestic sector, during the current recession, is a development that industry enthusiasts will look back on with interest in the years ahead.

Gloucester based CDW Systems is at the forefront of the domestic growth of aluminium and recently worked together with Exeter based Aspect Windows on two ‘notable’ projects that illustrate the trend.

Both were in the picturesque county of Devon and show how impressive aluminium windows and doors can look.

As part of a construction of a timber house in Woodbury, CDW Systems supplied a number of SAPA Dual frame windows that were coloured to RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey.

For the construction of an ultra-modern home on the Budleigh Salterton coastline, CDW Systems Supplied a number of SAPA Dual frame 75 windows along with Sun fold SFK70 bi-folding doors which were installed with coolite solar control glazing.

Colin Urquhart, who is CDW Systems’ Operations Director, comments on the thriving aluminium sector: “We’re seeing more and more homeowners choosing to have aluminium windows and doors installed ahead of PVCu whether it is as a replacement or for a new build. Aluminium windows and doors look incredible when they are installed and I believe domestic demand for aluminium will only increase as attitudes continue to shift.

On the finished projects, Colin comments: “These were magnificent looking constructions when you consider they were in the domestic setting. They were both ultra-modern, ultra-sleek homes and the very best products; knowledge and service was necessary to make them so.”

Aspect Windows and CDW Systems are long-term collaborators and Steve Cooling, who is Aspect’s Managing Director comments: “We have collaborated with CDW Systems on a number of projects over the years. The majority are high-end, grand design buildings with contemporary glazing.

“These two recent projects were in a coastal location so a quality product that was high-specification and weather resistant was vital. This is why we worked together With CDW Systems because you never get anything less – when it comes to the service and technical support they offer it is first class; their aluminium expertise and profile in the industry ensures you get the very best.”

CDW Systems have been in business for twenty-one years and manufacture and supply a wide range of windows, doors, shop fronts and curtain walling using some of the leading aluminium profile systems on the market today including Smarts and SAPA.

The specialist aluminium fabricator recently marked its 21st birthday with the launch of the EasySecure door, which is an evolution of one of their best-selling products, the Sapa Stormframe Easyway door.
